After win, Stars to host Marshall

Winona Christian football coach Ken Chandler said there was nothing pretty about Friday night’s win over Delta Streets.

The Stars had 375 yards of total offense and took a 36-8 win over the Lions on Friday night.

Winona Christian improves to 4-3 on the season and will host Marshall Academy on Friday night.

Whippets win 35-8 on new turf

There were actual fireworks before the game and figurative fireworks during the game when Kosciusko christened its brand spanking new Landrum Field turf with a 35-8 victory over Choctaw Central that was not as easy as it might sound.

Lady Stars’ season comes to an end

The Winona Christian softball team saw its season come to an end at the Class 4A state Tournament this week.

The Lady Stars opened with a 12-3 loss to Tri-County on Saturday and then beat Lee 14-5 on Saturday to advance to Monday’s play.

The Lady Stars then saw their season come to an end with a 9-2 loss to Marshall Academy.
