After several months of soul-searching Derrik Boland was sure it was time for him to leave the collegiate coaching ranks and return to a high school dugout, building and running his own program. He just was not sure where, until he visited Kosciusko.

The high school baseball career for Kosciusko graduate Chase Morgan ended when he played in the Crossroads D.M. Howie High School all-star game for 3A and 4A schools last Saturday at William Carey in Hattiesburg, but will continue at the junior college level.

It is just added some more Division I offers and several pounds of muscle to the rising junior for the Whippets.

That is why Harmon is the first player in The Star Herald Top 11 Players to Watch for the upcoming football season.

After helping Pearl River Community College reach the junior college world series this year, Kosciusko High School graduate Jerod Meggs will continue his baseball career at South Alabama. Maybe.
