Kosciusko and McAdams won their opening round playoff games Tuesday.
Kosciusko recovered from a slow start to defeat Ripley 55-47 in a 4A game. McAdams breezed to an 80-58 victory over Sacred Heart on 1A play.

It was bombs away from three-point range at the outset as McAdams won the Region 5-1A tournament with a 70-44  victory over Nanih Waiya Friday night.

The Bulldogs made five 3-pointers in the first quarter in jumping to a 21-9 lead. It wasn’t by design, according to coach Kenyon Ross.

This was just three games ago for Ole Miss basketball: The Rebels were 8-8 overall, a disappointing 3-6 in the Southeastern Conference. They were coming off double-digit losses to Arkansas and Georgia. They were playing decent defense, but the offense seemed terribly out of sync.

McAdams Bulldogs head to championship game tonight

McAdams made it nine straight victories with a 57-25 win over Ethel in the Region 5-1A semifinals Tuesday. 

The Bulldogs will play Nanih Waiya in the championship game Friday. Ethel will play West Lowndes in Thursday’s consolation game.

The newest Kosciusko High School sport will have its liftoff Thursday when the archery team competes in its first match at Weir Elementary School, beginning at 4:30 p.m. Choctaw County, the host school, and Nanih Waiya will also compete.
