Like every other sport, tennis has its rivalries. There were three-way rivalries – Bjorn Borg, Jimmy Connors and John McEnroe and Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal.

We are in a season of waiting—waiting for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and especially fall. Meanwhile, the savvy, well-prepared wives have had their homes decorated for weeks with pumpkins and bright foliage. Kudos to them! But I find it hard to get into the spirit when the thermometer climbs into the hundreds every day.
