Whippets suffer tough losses

The Kosciusko boys and girls basketball teams both suffered tough losses at the West Lowndes Shootout. The Whippets were edged by Okolona 49-48, the Lady Whippets by Noxubee County 60-58.
The Whippets loss resulted from 19 missed free throws, along with missed layups and turnovers.

Panthers coach and players, Tigers players receive region honors

Despite missing the playoffs and finishing with a losing record, the coaches of Region 3-1A took notice of French Camp’s Ethan Wright.
Wright was recently voted as the Region’s Most Valuable Player while teammates Silas Hodge and Avery Summers were also named to the team.

Former soccer player becomes all-star kicker for Trojans

In early August, before Central Holmes took the field against Clinton Christian, Ryan Lindsay of Kosciusko wrote on Facebook that “this is what dreams are made of.”
He was referring to his son, Dan, taking the field for the Central Holmes football team. Little did the Kosciusko dad know what was ahead.
