The McAdams baseball team got in six games last week but fell to two of the top state Class 1A teams.
The Bulldogs fell 15-2 and 20-5 to J.Z. George before losing 24-0 and 16-1 to Ethel. They also dropped a doubleheader at Nanih Waiya last week, losing 32-0 and 15-0.
McAdams was scheduled to play at Noxapater on Monday in their only games this week. They will then play a single game on April 1 at Leflore County at 3:30 p.m. and have a Thursday doubleheader at Leake County on Thursday, April 4
Against Nanih Waiya, the two-time defending Class 1A state champions won both games on Tuesday. The Warriors won the first game 32-0 as they scored 23 runs in the first inning and nine in the second. The Warriors had 17 hits while the Bulldogs went hitless. In the second game, Nanih Waiya won 15-0 as they had 12 hits and didn’t allow a hit for the second straight game. The Warriors scored five in the first and 10 in the second.
Against J.Z. George on Monday, the Bulldogs fell 15-2 and 20-5. The Bulldogs scored one in the first and two in the second and third in the nightcap. J.Z. George scored two in the first and nine in the second and third innings. McAdams had three hits on the day as T’Caivan Bolton singled, walked, stole three bases and scored twice. Kristopher Brown singled and scored and also had a stolen base. Deon Wilkins had McAdams other hit and had an RBI while Qualyn Witt was hit by a pitch twice, stole two bases and scored a run. Jaquan Winters walked, stole two bases and scored a run as well. JaQuan Winters had two stolen bases while Tydarrious Williams also had a stolen base. J.Z. George only had five hits but took advantage of 17 walks by the McAdams pitching.
Against Ethel on Friday, the Bulldogs lost 24-0 in the first game as the Tigers scored all of their runs in the first inning. In the second game, the Tigers won 16-1 as they scored two in the first, 13 in the second and one in the third. McAdams scored one run in the top of the first.
