Lady Whippets extend winning streak to seven
Kosciusko’s girls basketball program will roll into the Christmas break with an 11-2 record after enjoying two wins last week to extend its winning streak to seven.
Leake Central was the boys winner at the Bulldogs Invitational powerlifting meet hosted by McAdams, with individual winners in seven of the 11 weight classes. Leake Central has 60 points, Leake County 40, Jim Hill 34 and McAdams 29.
McAdams senior Percy Lewis has been named to the 1A All-State first team as a defensive tackle.
Lewis, 6-8 and 320 pounds, was a two-way lineman for the Bulldogs. He was credited with 90 tackles, including five for losses and three sacks.
The McAdams boys basketball team had victories over Eupora 83-29 and J.Z. George 60-56 before suffering a 73-58 loss to Leake County.
The Bulldogs jumped out to a 27-6 lead after one quarter and breezed to the victory over Eupora.
The Mississippi High School Activities Association will crown six football champions Friday and Saturday in games at the University of South Mississippi's M.M. Roberts Stadium in Hattiesburg.
