The McAdams girls basketball team rebounded from a two-point loss to Leake Central with a 65-49 victory over J.Z. George.
“We're starting to play better offensively,” said coach Michael Huffman. “The biggest thing is that we are getting more movement on our offense and that's getting us more opportunities to score.”
After Leake Central took a 56-53 lead on two free throws in the final seconds, McAdams had a chance to tie or win the game. The ball went to Kiara Brown, who had 30 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals in the game.
“We had a drive to the basket to see if we could get a foul,” Huffman said. “The ball just came up short.”
Haley Perteet had 15 rebounds and 11 points.
McAdams led J.Z. George 33-21 at the half on its way to the win. Brown had 20 points and seven rebounds, Iyania Malone 19 points and 14 rebounds.
The Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs played Eupora Tuesday and will host a tournament Friday and Saturday with games against Coffeeville and Kosciusko.
