Since the American League joined the National League as a baseball major league in 1901, the batting triple crown — leading a league in batting average, home runs and RBIs — has been achieved 15 times, 10 in the AL and five in the NL. The Stars fell behind early as Winston cruised to a 35-6 win on Friday night.
