Whippets tennis team splits 1st 6 matches of season

The Kosciusko tennis team split its first six matches of the season with victories over French Camp 5-2, Leake Central 7-0 and Winona 6-1, and losses to East Webster 4-3, Grenada 5-2 and Starkville 7-0. Leake Central is the only Region 4-4A match.

Whippets win 4-team golf match at Redbud Springs

Kosciusko won a four-team golf match hosted by the Whippets at Redbud Springs. It was Kosciusko's first 18-hole match of the season.
Kosciusko had a team score of 344 to 386 for Pearl, 390 for Choctaw County and 431 for Nanih Waiya. Cleveland Central had only two golfers, two short of the number needed for a team score.

Two lifters qualify for boys 4A state powerlifting meet

Kosciusko qualified two lifters, Nathan Hill and Javen Mallett, for the boys 4A state powerlifting meet. Both finished third in their weight classes at the North State meet Saturday at Ripley High School.

McAdams falls 67-48

McEvans turned up the pressure and pulled away from McAdams for a 67-48 victory in the 1A boys championship game at the Mississippi Coliseum, denying the Bulldogs a fourth state championship.

It started off well for the McAdams. Three pointers by Tyrick Davis and Willie Perteet keyed the Bulldogs to 16-6 lead after one quarter.
