The City of Dumas will no longer pick up limbs and trees for free that have been cut by the homeowner or hired contractor and placed on the curb for free.
The resident or homeowner is responsible for the disposal of limbs and trees placed on their curb.
If the City of Dumas Sanitation Department or Street Department receive a request to pick up the limbs and trees cut by a homeowner or contractor, there will be a minimum charge of $500.00 to be paid at the City of Dumas before the trees and limbs will be picked up.
Thank you for your cooperation.

Voters deserve to know who they are entrusting with leadership. My story is not about titles or accolades—it’s about preparation, service, and a lifelong commitment to doing the work required to serve others well.
Leadership expert John Maxwell says, “On any given day, we are a sum of our life experiences.” I believe that wholeheartedly. Every morning, I wake up with purpose, knowing that every step I have taken—personally and professionally—has prepared me to lead our Sheriff’s Office and help lead our County with integrity and accountability.

The 2026 session of the Mississippi Legislature is ready to go, and from the looks of things, the Republican majorities in both chambers must prepare to compromise to get anything high on their wish list accomplished.
A recent story on the Magnolia Tribune website explored education issues ranging from school choice to teacher pay raises; and increased financial assistance for the Public Employees Retirement System to start decreasing its $26 billion unfunded liability.

Few entities have had a bigger effect on Arkansas than Walmart, and this year the effect was bigger than most. For that reason, philanthropist Alice Walton, daughter of founder Sam Walton, and retiring CEO Doug McMillon are the Arkansans of the Year.
Every December, this column bestows that title on an individual or individuals who have most impacted the state. It is inspired by Time magazine’s “Person of the Year” designation for “the person or persons who most affected the news and our lives, for good or ill, and embodied what was important about the year.”
