LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The National Council on Teacher Quality (NCTQ), a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring every student has access to committed and high-quality educators, recently released its State of the States report, assessing states’ investments in teachers through paid parental leave. The report found that Arkansas is one of only two states offering teachers 12 weeks of paid maternity leave.

GLAZED PORK
TENDERLOIN
1 5-6 pound ham
12 whole cloves
2 tsp grated orange peel
1 cup orange juice
1/2 cup brown sugar
4 tsp cornstarch
1 1/2 tsp dry mustard
Place tenderloin in shallow roasting pan. Stick with cloves. Bake at 325 for 1 1/2 hour, brushing with glaze every 20 minutes.
GLAZE
Combine juice, brown sugar, cornstarch and dry mustard. Cook until thick and bubbly. Cook and stir 2 minutes more.

ZUCCHINI BOATS
2 large zucchini, cut in half
Olive oil
Salt and pepper
2 cloves garlic, minced
8 oz bag fresh spinach
1/2 cup feta or Swiss cheese
Grated parmesan cheese
Scoop out a bit of the middle of the zucchini. Brush with olive oil. Place cut side down on baking
sheet. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes or tender/crisp. Remove from oven, sprinkle with salt and pepper. Saute garlic and spinach in olive oil for 2 minutes; add cheese and scooped out zucchini; stir until melted. Spoon into zucchini boats. Top with parmesan and return to oven for 5 minutes.

MANCHESTER, NH (01/06/2026)-- Shantrell Burgess of Dumas (71639) has been named to Southern New Hampshire University's (SNHU) Fall 2025 President's List. The fall terms run from September to December.
Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.700 and above for the reporting term are named to the President's List. Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits over each 16-week term or paired 8-week terms grouped in fall, winter/spring, and summer.
