The Ethel baseball team was busy last week with four games.
The Tigers opened with a doubleheader sweep of McAdams, winning 18-0 and 15-0 on Tuesday.
The Tigers then finished the week with a 5-0 loss to Neshoba Central on Thursday and a 9-8 loss to Scott Central on Saturday.
Ethel 18, McAdams 0
The Tigers used a pair of nine-run innings to take a run-rule win over the Bulldogs on Tuesday in the first game of a doubleheader.
Ethel scored nine in the first and second innings and had six hits and drew 11 walks. Wes Bishop doubled while Colin White scored twice while Rex Burrell scored twice and had two RBIs. Hunter Hutchinson also scored twice.
Hutchinson started and pitched one perfect inning and struck out three while Bishop pitched one inning and struck out three. Ethan Bishop pitched the last inning and walked one while striking out two.
Ethel 15, McAdams 0
The Tigers scored all of their runs in the first inning and took a run-rule win in the second game of the doubleheader on Tuesday.
Kadan Adams singled, scored twice and had four RBIs. Colin White, Wes Bishop, Gabe Cain, Ethan Bishop and Eli Ramage each scored two runs.
Ramage pitched one inning and struck out two while Ryan Burrell pitched one inning and struck out three.
Neshoba 5, Ethel 0
The Rockets pulled ahead late and took a shutout win over the Tigers on Thursday.
Neshoba scored one in the second and two in the fifth and sixth.
Neshoba outhit Ethel 5-2 in the contest while the Tigers had three errors. Colin White and Gabe Cain each singled for the Tigers.
Kadan Adams pitched 4 2/3 innings and gave up one run on two hits and struck out two Cain pitched 1/3 of an inning and gave up three runs on three hits. Wes Bishop pitched the last inning and gave up one run on one walk.
Scott Central 9, Ethel 8
The Rebels used a big sixth inning to take a one-run win over the Tigers on Saturday.
Ethel scored three in the first and one in the second and led 4-1. Scott scored two in the third while Ethel scored two in the fourth and led 6-4. Ethel added a run in the sixth while Scott scored five in the bottom of the sixth to take a 9-7 led. Ethel added one in the seventh for the final margin.
Scott Central outhit Ethel 7-6 in the contest while the Tigers had eight errors in the field. Gabe Cain was 2-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and two RBIs. Kameron Fortenberry was 2-for-4 with two RBIs as well. Ryan Burrell had two RBIs while Wes Bishop singled and scored twice.
Colin White pitched three innings and gave up three runs on three hits while striking out six. Hunter Hutchinson pitched three innings and gave up six unearned runs on four hits while striking out two.
