The French Camp baseball team opened division play last week and had a pair of battles with Sebastopol.
On Monday, French Camp outlasted Sebastopol, winning in walk-off fashion with a 7-6 win in 11 innings. Sebastopol then bounced back and took a 9-7 win on Friday night to split the series.
French Camp 7, Sebastopol 6
The Panthers scored two runs in the bottom of the 11th and got a walk-off win on a bases-loaded walk to take a division win over the Bobcats.
Each team scored one in the first and Sebastopol scored three in the third while the Panthers answered with three in the fourth.
Sebastopol outhit French Camp 9-8 in the contest. Will Taylor was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBIs while Carson Philyaw and Nick Long were each 2-for-4. Avery Summers was also 2-for-5 for the Panthers.
Eli Withers started and pitched the first five innings and gave up two runs on four hits and six walks while striking out nine. Philyaw pitched the next six innings and gave up four runs on five hits while striking out seven.
Sebastopol 9, French Camp 7
The Bobcats held on to take a two-run win over the Panthers on Friday.
French Camp scored three in the second before Sebastopol answered with two in the third and fourth to go ahead 4-3. The Bobcats then added five in the fifth to go up 9-3. French Camp then scored two runs in the sixth and seventh for the final margin.
Sebastopol outhit French Camp 8-4 in the contest as the Panthers had three home runs. Benjamin Wright had a three-run home run while Avery Summers had a two-run home run. Ethan Wright had a solo home run. Nick Long also scored two runs.
Ethan Wright started on the mound and pitched four innings and gave up four runs on four hits and four walks while striking out 11. Carson Philyaw pitched one inning and gave up five runs, only one earned on four hits. Summers pitched the last inning without giving up a run.
