Operation Airdrop: Attala County residents donate to disaster relief

Floridians affected by Hurricane Ian are getting help from Attala County locals.

“Thanks to everyone who donated goods or money on Monday to aid in hurricane relief to the Fort Myers area,” said Kosciusko Mayor Tim Kyle.

Donations being accepted today for those affected by Hurricane Ian

Operation Airdrop is collecting essential supplies to be delivered to Fort Myers, Florida, to be transported throughout the state to assist those affected by Hurricane Ian.

The items are being accepted today, Oct. 3, and can be dropped off at the Kosciusko airport or city hall.

The first-ever Heart of Mississippi PCA Rodeo, presented by Attala County Co-op, brought out a crowd last Friday and Saturday night. The event was held at 1 Superior Drive behind Dickerson Petroleum. The rodeo was organized by the Kosciusko-Attala Partnership.

Homecoming parade, pep rally set for Thurs.

Kosciusko High School’s homecoming parade will begin Thursday at 6 p.m. at the First Baptist Church Son building. The parade will continue along Huntington Street and around the courthouse square, to Jefferson Street and back to Huntington Street, and will conclude at the junior high school.
