McAdams began its volleyball program with a home loss to Holmes County Central 25-15, 25-5, 25-19.
“We didn’t win the match, but we learned a lot from the match, the things we need to work on and the things they were working on that actually work” said coach Ashley Brown.” So I think it was good in that sense.”
Holmes County Central has had a volleyball program for several years.
McAdams played its best in the final set after getting into the match. Brown said Jada Baynes played well for the Lady Bulldogs, especially serving. In the final set, she served five straight points.
McAdams played Noxapater Monday and Kosciusko Tuesday in home matches. The remainder of the schedule is as follows: Sept. 8 – at Noxapater; Sept. 10 – at Kosciusko; Sept. 15 – at Holmes County Central; Sept. 21 – at Ethel; Sept. 22 – Winona; Oct. 1 – at Winona; Oct. 6 – Ethel; and Oct. 15 – Opening round of 1A playoffs.
As the only school in Region 6-1A playing volleyball, McAdams is guaranteed a spot in the playoffs.
