McAdams won the Class I girls South State powerlifting meet for 1A and 2A schools held in Brookhaven last week and qualified eight lifters for the state meet. The top three in each weight class advance to the April 18 state meet at the Mississippi Coliseum in Jackson.
McAdams finished with 46 points to 32 for runner-up Noxapater. They were followed by Heidelberg 31, Scott Central 20, St. Patrick 17 Leake County 16, West Lincoln 15 and Sacred Heart 7. The meet was held at West Lincoln Attendance Center.
McAdams had three lifters who finished first in their weight classes and five who were second. Amber Harmon won the 105-pound weight class with a total of 445 pounds for the squat, bench press and dead lift. Shawnessy Martin won at 165 with 680 pounds and Daniell Smith totaled 645 pounds to win 242.
Second place finishers for the Lady Bulldogs were Kiyah Harmon at 123 with 475 pounds, Kristal Wilson at 132 (560), Iyanla Malone at 148 (560), Dermeria Moore at 165 (455) and Jamirakle Nash at 220 (555).
