The McAdams Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs hosted Durant and Montgomery County last week with the Bulldogs grabbing two wins while the Ladies split, dropping one to Durant. The Bulldogs improved to 10-13 overall while the Lady Bulldogs moved to 16-6.
Last Tuesday night the Bulldogs played host to the Durant Tigers and led 24-10 after one quarter of play and took a 40-28 lead into the half. The Bulldogs increased their lead to 55-37 after three quarters of play and ran away with a 66-47 win after outscoring the Tigers once again in the fourth quarter 11-10. The Lady Bulldogs fell behind 12-10 after one quarter of play and trailed 33-29 at the half to the Lady Tigers. Durant increased their lead to 47-41 after three quarters of play and put the game away in the fourth quarter by outscoring the Lady Bulldogs 19-13 to take the 66-54 win. The leaders for the Lady Bulldogs were Ke’Mara Atterberry with 18 points, seven rebounds and two steals; Jakyra Young with 12 points, three rebounds and three assists; Kneisha Erving with 13 points and 11 rebounds and Cavian Bolton with six points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals.
On Friday night McAdams hosted the Montgomery County Hornets and came away with a close 48-44 win. The Bulldogs jumped on the Hornets early and led 11-9 after one quarter of play and 26-22 at the half. The Hornets took the lead 35-32 after three quarters of play, but the Bulldogs pulled out the win with a big fourth quarter, outscoring the Hornets 16-9. No stats were available at press time.
The Lady Bulldogs rebounded from last Tuesday’s loss to Durant with a resounding 78-35 win over the Lady Hornets. The Lady Bulldogs took an 18-6 lead after one quarter of play and led 40-20 at the intermission. A 25-14 outburst in the third quarter put the game away with McAdams taking the 65-34 lead into the final quarter. The Lady Bulldogs nearly shut the Lady Hornets out in the fourth quarter with a 13-1 scoring differential, giving McAdams a 43-point win. The leaders for the Lady Bulldogs were Santisja Rockett with seven points, four rebounds, two assists and five steals; Aaliyah Lusk with four points, one rebound and five steals; Atterberry with 14 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists and five steals; Young with 12 points, four rebounds, two assists and five steals; Kiara Brown with four points, five rebounds and three steals and Erving with 27 points, nine rebounds and two assists.
McAdams hosted the French Camp Panthers on Tuesday night and will travel to Holmes County Central on Friday for a 6 p.m. contest.
