The McAdams and Lady Bulldogs traveled to Pelahatchie last Friday night with the Bulldogs picking up a 60-35 win to improve to 3-12 on the year. The Lady Bulldogs suffered their fifth loss of the season with a 57-54 setback, moving their record to 10-5 overall.
Over the holidays the Bulldogs lost three consecutive contests in the McAdams Christmas Tournament to Durant on December 20, by a score of 76-53.
They then fell to Noxubee County 78-76 on December 20, before falling to Pelahatchie 52-44 on December 22.
The Lady Bulldogs fared a little better in the tournament, picking up a 62-49 decision over Noxubee County but fell to both Durant and Holmes Central by scores of 62-59 and 59-49 respectively.
In last Friday night’s contest at Pelahatchie, the Lady Bulldogs led 16-11 after the first quarter and 27-24 at the half. The Lady Chiefs came out in the second half and outscored the Lady Bulldogs 33-27 over the remaining two quarters to claim the 57-54 win over McAdams.
The offensive leaders for the Lady Bulldogs were Kneisha Erving with 24 points and 17 rebounds; Ke’Mara Atterberry with 11 points, eight rebounds, two assists and five steals; Jakyra Young with nine points, seven rebounds, one assist and four steals; Kiara Brown with four points and nine rebounds and Aaliyah Lusk with two points, five rebounds and three steals.
McAdams hosted Ethel on Tuesday night and will travel to Durant on Friday for a 6 p.m. tip.
