The McAdams Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs hosted Eupora and Leake Central last week with the Lady Bulldogs winning both contests while the Bulldogs fell twice. The Lady Bulldogs defeated Eupora 59-31 on Thursday night and Leake Central 72-71 on Friday night to move to 5-0 on the year. The Bulldogs fell 65-55 to Eupora and 66-59 to Leake Central to move to 1-4 overall.
The Lady Whippets hosted the Eupora Lady Eagles on Thursday night and pulled away early, taking a 19-3 first quarter lead. The Lady Bulldogs then went into the half with a 35-12 lead and cruised to the 59-31 win, outscoring the Lady Eagles 24-19 in the second half.
The offensive leaders for the Lady Bulldogs were Ke’Mara Atterberry with 14 points, 15 rebounds and three steals; Jakyra Young with 13 points, four rebounds, an assist and two steals; Kneisha Erving with 16 points, nine boards and a steal and Kiara Brown with five points, eight rebounds, two assists and two steals.
The Lady Bulldogs traveled to Carthage on Friday night to take on the Leake Central Gators and took a quick 22-11 lead after one quarter of play. McAdams would then take a 36-27 lead into the intermission before being outscored 31-20 in the third quarter, falling behind the Lady Gators 58-56. The Lady Bulldogs regained the lead late in the fourth quarter and held on for the 72-71 win. The statistical leaders for the Lady Bulldogs were Atterberry with 20 points, 18 rebounds, five assists and two steals; Young with 20 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals; Erving with 25 points and 11 rebounds and Santisja Rockett with four points, 10 boards and two assists.
The Bulldogs fell 65-55 to Eupora on Thursday and fell again on Friday night to Leake Central 66-59. In the Leake Central contest the Bulldogs took a 21-20 first quarter lead but trailed 40-36 at the half. They were then outscored 26-23 in the third and fourth periods, dropping their second contest in a row.
Both teams hosted Coldwater on Tuesday night and will travel to Macon on Saturday to participate in the Noxubee County Invitational.
