The McAdams Bulldogs finished the 2015-16 season with a 16-11 overall record and a 7-3 Region 5-1A record after falling 70-68 to Sacred Heart in the second round of the MHSAA Class 1A Playoffs.
“Basically I have a young team when it comes to experience,” said Bulldog head coach Carl Hathorn. “I have two returning starters who are leaders, but with these younger kids, they just need to get that experience. We are just focusing on growing from game to game so when it comes playoff time we will be mature enough to play well enough to advance further. We do have some outstanding shooters and Javonte Teague was our leading scorer last year while Charles Kilbert is our leader because he keeps this group together. He is real talented when it comes to knowledge of the game and he plays hard all of the time. He can shoot the three, but he loves driving to the basket and he goes hard.”
Hathorn is confident in the ability of his young players and feels that they will get better throughout the season with experience.
“Our goal is to grow from game to game,” added Hathorn. “We will take our lumps, but I think we will be better when it comes to region play.”
