The Durant Lady Tigers had their season come to a close on Monday morning when they dropped a 50-35 decision to Pine Grove in the MHSAA Class 1A Final Four.
The Lady Tigers fell behind in the contest 17-7 after one quarter of play and trailed 23-15 at the half. Pine Grove pulled away in the third quarter to take a 46-26 lead into the fourth. The Tigers outscored Pine Grove in the final stanza but it would not be enough.
The offensive leaders for the Lady Tigers were Aquasia Edwards with 10 points and three rebounds; Tamari Myers with eight points, four rebounds, one block and one steal; Kayla Davis with two points, seven rebounds and two steals and Tamera Riley with four points, two rebounds and three steals.
The Lady Tigers finished the year as the Region 5-1A Champions with a 20-9 overall record and a 9-1 Region 5-1A mark.
McAdams teams falls in quarterfinals
The McAdams Bulldogs had their season come to an end last Wednesday at the hands of Shaw in the Class 1A MHSAA Quarterfinals by a score of 80-34 at Jackson State University. The Bulldogs finished the season as the Region 5-1A Champions with an overall record of 16-13 and 6-2 in region play.
The Lady Bulldogs had their season come to a close in the Class 1A MHSAA Semifinals to Shaw as well by a score of 58-54 at the Mississippi Coliseum.
The Lady Bulldogs finished their season with a 23-7 record and 6-2 in region play.
