The Ethel Tigers finished the 2015-16 campaign with just one win overall and one win in Region 5-1A play and look to be more experienced and improved on the court in the 2016-17 season.
“We are coming off a pretty rough year last year with just one win,” said Tiger head coach Corey Parrish. “I expect us to be a lot better this year. Last year we had nine underclassmen, sophomores and under. Even though we are still young, I expect them to be a lot more competitive and play faster.”
The Tigers are led by six-foot-one senior Julius Erving whom Tiger head coach Corey Parrish describes as the leader on the floor and the leading scorer from last year. Six-feet-one senior Corey Felton will be counted on as a leader as well for the Tigers and is described by Parrish as the “go-to” man in the middle.
“I expect us to be a lot more up-tempo and a lot more competitive,” added Parrish. “We are in good spirits right now and out of the 13 kids on the roster, we are going to play about 10 every night. They all will play a big roll and minutes will be pretty even for them all. Hopefully we can get contributions from everybody and not just rely on one guy.”
