The Ethel High School Tigers are 0-2 following Friday’s loss to Winona Christian, but Head Coach Dave McCrory does not believe the team is that far off.
“We’re moving the ball,” McCrory said. “We’re putting the ball on the ground too much.
Last Saturday the Ethel High School Lady Tigers slow-pitch softball team opened its regular season by splitting a pair of games at the Louisville Classic in Louisville.
The Ethel High School and Kosciusko High School slow-pitch softball teams met in a 4-inning warm-up on Saturday in Winona, with the Tigers winning 3-2.
There is nowhere to go but up for the Ethel football team following an 0-11 campaign in 2017, but first year Head Coach Dave McCrory sees better times ahead.
“I’m glad to be here,” McCrory said. “I want to turn it around.”

New Ethel head football coach Dave McCrory was looking for someone to step up and be the leader of the team.
It did not take him long to find Akeem Erving, who is the third player selected to the Star-Herald Top 10 Players to Watch.

The Ethel football program will try to swing the pendulum of motivation the opposite direction during the 2018 football season, which will officially get under way Aug. 17.
That is when the Tigers open a new football season with a road trip to McAdams.
