The Ethel baseball team upped its record to 7-0 on the season by winning all five games it played this past week, notching victories over Canton Academy, Pelahatchie, Eupora, Water Valley and Kirk Academy.
This week the Tigers (7-0) were set to face Attala County rival Kosciusko at Kosciusko on Tuesday, before hosting the Whippets on Friday night.
Ethel softball would lose its first game of the season to Neshoba Central 11-0 on Saturday.
Ethel 4, Canton Academy 1
The Tigers would score a run in the second inning, two more in the third and add the final fourth run in the fifth to put away the Panthers. Hayden Graves had two hits for EHS, while Cyrus Rone blasted a triple and Reeves Threadgill, Alex Schuster and Hayden Beall had a hit each.
Threadgill struck out eight and allowed just three hits and one walk over six innings of work to pick up the win on the mound.
Ethel 14, Pelahatchie 2
Schuster banged out three hits, including a triple, and drove in four runs to help lift the Tigers past the Chiefs in a five-inning run rule. Graves also had three hits, while Beall added two.
It was a nine-run third inning that gave the Tigers control of the game. John Braxton McBride, Rone, Tanner Reeves and Kameron McCuller each had hits for the winners.
Austin Hanson and McCuller each struck out four batters in two innings of work, while McBride fanned the side in his one inning on the mound.
Ethel 14, Eupora 2
An 11-run first was all Ethel needed to roll to the easy home win over Eupora.
Beall drove in four runs behind a homer and single and also got the win on the mound as the Tigers got past the Eagles in a four-inning run rule.
Schuster had three hits, including a pair of doubles, while McBride laced a trio of singles for the Tigers. Rone, Threadgill and Graves had two hits each. Tyler Weaver, McCuller and Reeves all added singles for EHS.
Ethel 11, Kirk Academy 1
McBride blasted a homer for the Tigers in the win over Kirk, while Hayden Graves had two hits and three RBIs and Schuster had a pair of hits as well.
Beall, Threadgill and Hanson added singles for the winners, while McCuller tossed a five-inning one-hitter to earn the win, while striking out six and not allowing a walk.
Ethel 7, Water Valley 5
Ethel fell behind 3-0 but scored four runs in the third and then notched two in the seventh to earn the win.
Reeves blasted a homer and double to help lift the Tigers over the Blue Devils. Reeves also had two hits, while Rone got the win on the mound for the Tigers. Also picking up hits for Ethel were Threadgill, McCuller, Schuster and Beall.
