Ethel dropped a 42-7 decision on the road to Coffeeville in its Region 3-1A matchup on Friday night.
The Tigers (0-7, 0-5 Region 3-1A) will travel to Ray Brooks (0-5, 0-4) on Friday for another district game.
“We are just young and we’re going to keep working hard and getting better,” said Ethel coach Dave McCrory. “Ray Brooks is similar to Coffeeville and throws the ball around a little more, so we got to make sure we are aligned correctly and do a good job in the secondary.”
Scott Walters had two catches for 84 yards for Ethel, while Cyrus Rone had 21 yards rushing on four carries with a touchdown.
Hollandale-Simmons leads Region 3-1A with a 3-0 mark, while West Bolivar and Leflore County are both 3-1 and West Tallahatchie and McAdams have 2-1 records. Coffeeville is 2-2, while Shaw is 1-2 and Ray Brooks and Ethel are both winless in the league.
