The Ethel Tigers (4-1) played Central Holmes on Tuesday night and Friday night before playing JZ George and Kirk Academy on Saturday in the Winona Tournament. The Tigers fell 9-7 last Tuesday night to Central Holmes before returning the favor on Friday night in Ethel with a 16-10 win. The Tigers then traveled to Winona on Saturday and defeated JZ George 13-1 and Kirk Academy 6-4.
In last Tuesday night’s contest against Central Holmes, Brady Odom got the start and pitched two innings, allowing four runs, one earned, on two hits and three walks while striking out three. Blake Wilkinson came on in relief and pitched three innings, allowing four runs, one earned, on four hits and no walks while striking out two. Hayden Beall pitched the final inning and gave up one run on two hits while walking one.
Landon Rawson got the start for Central Holmes and pitched three innings. Rawson allowed two runs on four hits while walking two and striking out seven. Wes Hudson came on in relief and pitched 3.2 innings, allowing five runs, four earned, on five hits and one walk while striking out five. Noah Burton came on for the final out of the contest, allowing no runs on no hits or walks.

The offensive leaders for Central Holmes were Peyton Killebrew with a single and one run scored; Rawson with two doubles and three runs scored; Alex Arnold with one run scored; Cole Frank with two singles and three RBI; Nathan Taylor with one run scored; Parker Belk with one run scored and an RBI and Elijah Steen with two singles and two RBI.
The Tigers hosted Central Holmes on Friday night and Odom once again drew the start for Ethel. Odom pitched two innings and allowed two runs on two hits and four walks while striking out three. Wilkinson came on in relief and pitched four innings, allowing three runs, two earned, on one hit and one walk while striking out two to earn the win. Beall pitched the final inning, allowing three runs, none earned, on one hit and one walk while striking out three.
Austin Hanson got the start for Central Holmes and pitched one inning, allowing three runs on two hits while walking one and striking out one. Owen Obryant came on in relief of Hanson and pitched two innings, surrendering three runs, two earned, on three hits and four walks while striking out two. Noah Steen came on after Obryant and pitched 1.2 innings, allowing four runs on five walks while striking out one. Nathan Taylor pitched .2 of an inning and allowed two runs on two hits while walking one.

In the Tigers 13-1 win over JZ George, Beall got the start and win for Ethel by allowing one run, unearned, on one hit while striking out two and walking one in four innings of work. In Ethel’s second game on Saturday against Kirk Academy, Weaver got the start and win by pitching two innings, allowing one hit and one run on three walks while striking out one hitter. Connor Clark came on in relief and got the save, pitching two innings while allowing three runs, one earned, on one hit and four walks while striking out three.

Ethel played JZ George on Tuesday night and will host Winston Academy on Friday night at 4 p.m. The Tiers will then travel to Sebastopol on Saturday for a 12 p.m. contest.
