Two former Ethel softball players, Sidney Rone and Jessica Mitchell, had promising freshman seasons at the junior college level in 2020.
Rone, a catcher and outfielder, batted .320 (16 for 50) for East Central, with seven doubles, seven RBIs and 15 runs scored.
East Central went 14-4 and won its last eight games before the season was ended by the pandemic.
Mitchell, a pitcher and infielder, batted .357 (5 for 14), with a homer and eight RBIs, for Holmes, which played 10 games.
A couple of 2020 Ethel graduates have signed with junior colleges for this coming season – Hayden Beall with Holmes for baseball and Kambrie Hodges with East Central for softball.
