The Central Holmes Trojans kicked off the baseball season this past week but it wasn’t a pretty start.
The Trojans opened with 4A power Tri-County Academy and lost 18-1 in the opener.
Central Holmes is scheduled to play at Jackson Victors on Monday and then host Delta on Tuesday in their other action this week. The following week, they will host Humphreys on Monday and Columbus Christian on Tuesday before playing at J.Z. George on Thursday and at Columbus Christian on Friday.

The Rebels score 14 runs in the first inning and took a three-inning, run-rule win over the Trojans on Friday.
After opening with 14 runs, Tri-County scored four in the second while Central Holmes scored its only run in the third inning.
Tri-County outhit Central Holmes 8-2 in the contest and took advantage of six errors. Noah Steen singled and drove in Central Holmes only run. Ellis Harris had the Trojans’ other hit.
Steen started on the mound and gave up nine runs, only two earned, on two hits and five walks while striking out one. Mason Wisel gave up five unearned runs on one hit and one walk. Barrett Fondren pitched the last 1 1/3 innings and gave up four runs on five hits and a walk.
