While their overall records might not be that impressive, both McAdams basketball teams will enter this week’s Division 5-1A tournaments as the top seeds.
After sweeping a pair of games from French Camp last week, both teams secured those No. 1 spots for this week’s tournament.
The Lady Bulldogs enter Division 5-1A Tournament as the No. 1 seed with an overall record of 13-10 and 6-0 in division play. The Lady Bulldogs will open the tournament on Tuesday at 4 p.m. against Coffeeville, a team they beat twice this season. A Tuesday win puts them in the championship game against the Ethel and French Camp winner on Friday at 7 p.m.
The Bulldogs finished the regular season with an 11-11 overall record and a 4-2 league record and finished in a tie with Coffeeville. The Bulldogs beat Coffeeville 69-63 but lost 70-69 and finish as the No. 1 seed in the division. They will host French Camp on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m.

The Lady Bulldogs needed every point as they held on to take a one-point win over the Lady Panthers in their only game last week.
French Camp led for most of the first half with a 13-10 advantage at the end of the first and a 32-28 lead at the half. The Lady Bulldogs started to mount they comeback in the second half as they tied the score at 40-40 at the end of the third by outscoring French Camp 12-8. McAdams took the win in the fourth by outscoring French Camp 11-10.
Kiara Brown led McAdams with 17 points, eight rebounds and five steals. Jakyra Young also had 11 points and six rebounds. Santisja Rockett also had six points. Haley Perteet led the Lady Bulldogs on the boards with nine rebounds while Robriana Clark and Cavian Bolton each had eight rebounds apiece. Bolton also had four assists and four steals.

The Bulldogs raced out to an early lead and held on to take an eight-point win over the Panthers.
McAdams started quick and led 17-6 at the end of the first and 31-17 at the half. French Camp answered as they outscored McAdams 14-6 to cut the score to 37-31 heading into the fourth. McAdams outscored French Camp 17-15 in the fourth for the final margin.
