It was not a very merry Christmas for the McAdams basketball teams as both lost to Leake County and Leake Central in their annual Christmas Tournament.
The Bulldogs had a pair of close games, losing 71-64 to Leake Central and 76-59 to Leake County. The Lady Bulldogs lost 68-37 to Leake Central and 57-47 to Leake County.
The Bulldogs are 7-7 on the season and will return to action on Jan. 8 as they travel to Ethel to begin Division play. They will play J.Z. George on Jan. 11 and travel to Philadelphia on Jan. 12.
The Lady Bulldogs are 7-8 on the season.
Leake Central boys 71,
McAdams 64
After beating the Gators by one point earlier in the season, McAdams was not able to overcome a slow start as it dropped a seven-point decision to the Gators on Friday.
Leake jumped out to a 23-12 lead in the first period and led 36-27 at the half. Leake extended its lead in the third, outscoring McAdams 14-11 to take a 40-28 lead into the fourth. McAdams outscored Leake 26-21 in the fourth to cut the margin to seven.
Querrion Gadson led McAdams with a season-high 31 points, eight rebounds and seven assists while T’Caivan Bolton had 13 points. Corte Dotson added eight points. John Bayne had eight rebounds while Kris Brown, Deon Wilkens and Dotson each had five rebounds apiece.

The Lady Gators outscored the Lady Bulldogs in every period to take a 31-point win on Friday.
Leake led 18-9 at the end of the first and 40-21 at the half. The Lady Gators outscored the Lady Bulldogs 19-8 in the third to lead 59-29 at the end of the third.

Leake closed with a big fourth period to take a 17-point win over McAdams on Thursday in the McAdams Tournament.
Leake County led 14-9 at the end of the first and 31-29 at the half. The Gators extended their lead in the third, outscoring the Bulldogs 20-17 for a 51-46 lead going into the fourth. But the Gators pulled away in the fourth as they outscored the Bulldogs 25-13 in the fourth.
Querrion Gadson led McAdams with 29 points, eight rebounds, five assists and three steals. Deon Wilkins had 10 points and eight rebounds while T’Caivan Bolton had seven points and Corte Dotson added six points. John Bayne led the Bulldogs with nine rebounds and also had three assists.

Leake County pulled out to an early lead and held on to take a 10-point win on Thursday.
Leake led 14-9 at the end of the first and 26-18 at the half. McAdams outscored Leake 16-15 in the third to cut the lead to 41-34 going into the fourth. Leake took the fourth 16-13 for the final margin.
