Kiara Brown led the McAdams girls basketball team to two wins last week. She scored 16 points in a 53-25 victory over Eupora and 22 in a 44-35 victory over J.Z. George.
“I have a lot of new people. They're starting to come along. They're starting to play better,” said coach Michael Huffman.
McAdams led Eupora 16-2 after one quarter and breezed to the victory. Shakita Greer scored 11 points and Iyanla Malone nine.
The J.Z. George game was close most of the way with McAdams holding leads of 10-8 after one period, 22-16 at the half and 29-23 through three quarters. “We made our free throws in the fourth quarter,” Huffman said.
Greer scored eight points.
“Right now it's a learning experience for them,” Huffman said. “We're trying to get our defense down pat. It seem like they are buying into the defense.”
The Lady Bulldogs have been rebounding well, according to Huffman. “Our kids are staring to get used to going to the boards.”
McAdams was set to play Leake County on Tuesday. No information was available by press time on the boys games from last week.
