After splitting games in the regular season, the McAdams boys got the last word with the Coffeeville Pirates.
The Bulldogs needed two overtimes but eventually took a 73-70 win over the Pirates to capture the Division 5-1A championship on Friday at French Camp.
The Bulldogs were scheduled to host Noxapater in the first round of the MHSAA Class 1A Boys State Basketball Tournament on Tuesday night and would face the winner of Leake
County and Salem on Saturday night. McAdams lost 76-59 to Leake County on Dec. 20 earlier this season.

Coffeeville 70
The Bulldogs needed two overtimes to take a hard-fought three-point win over the Pirates in the Division 5-1A Tournament on Friday night.
The Bulldogs jumped out to a 15-4 lead in the first period and led 29-16 at the half. Coffeeville fought back in the second half as they outscored McAdams 10-8 in the third and 25-14 in the fourth to send the game into overtime tied at 51-51. McAdams outscored Coffeeville 22-19 in the two overtime periods to take the win.
Querrion Gadson led McAdams with 24 points while T’Caivan Bolton had 14 points. Kristopher Brown had 10 points while Amir Bentley had eight points. John Bayne had seven points and Corte Dotson also had six points.

French Camp 51
The Bulldogs raced out to a 20-0 lead in the first period but had to hold on late to take an 18-point win over the Panthers in the 5-1A semifinals on Tuesday.
After jumping out to the quick start, McAdams led 23-8 at the end of the first and outscored French Camp 16-13 in the second to lead 39-21 at the half. But French Camp got things going in the third and outscored McAdams 15-6 to cut the lead to 46-36 going into the fourth. French Camp got as close as 47-41 in the fourth but McAdams pulled away as they outscored the Panthers 24-17 for the final margin.
Querrion Gadson led McAdams with 22 points while T’Caivan Bolton added 11 points.
