McAdams dominated the boys Region 3-1A powerlifting meet last Saturday winning seven of the 11 weight classes.
McAdams, which hosted the meet, finished with 68 points to 39 for runner-up Leake County. Ethel was third with 34 points and one individual winner. Noxapater had 18 and Nanih Waiya 8.
Individual winners for McAdams, their weight classes and total weight lifted for the squat, bench press and dead lift: Jimmy Wilson, 129, 730 pounds; Johntavis Rimmer, 148, 805 pounds; Tromone Bailey, 165, 1,000 pounds; Likraius Ward, 181, 1,000 pounds; Tayveon Rimmer, 198, 960 pounds; Jaylan Perteet, 242, 1.225 pounds; Malique Greer, 275, 1,110 pound.
The top three in each weight class qualify for the South State meet Feb. 22 at Ethel. Oher McAdams qualifiers are Tydamius Williams, second at 123 (670); Joseph Jenkins, second at 220 (875); and Lewis Latiker, second at 308 (1,295).
Kentrel Dotson won at 123, totaling 770 pounds, for Ethel. Other qualifiers are Ladamis Hubbert, second at 198 (795); Aiden Armstrong, third at 123 (235); Tyler Barksdale, third at 132 (585); Kyle Nabors, third at 165 (700); and Devin Granger, third at 220 (850).
Top three in each weight class at the South State meet qualify for the 1A state meet April 18 at the Mississippi Coliseum in Jackson,
Leake County had winners at 220, 308 and super heavyweight.
McAdams will host the girls Class I, Region 3 meet Saturday. Teams that will participate are McAdams, Noxapater, Leake County, Scott Central and Heidelberg.
