McAdams has arguably played one of the toughest schedules in Class 1A basketball this season.
While both the boys and the girls are hovering around the .500 mark, they will now try their hands at Class 1A competition as they get into the bulk of their division competition.
McAdams was set to take on rival Ethel in a huge Division 5-1A contest on Tuesday. Because of consolidation, other division contests will be against French Camp and Coffeeville.
After Ethel, which was scheduled for Tuesday this week, McAdams will host J.Z. George on Friday and play against 2A power Philadelphia on Saturday.
Then next week, McAdams will host French Camp on Friday, Jan. 18 in another key 5-1A matchup.
For the Bulldogs, who stand at 7-7 on the season, senior Querrion Gadson has blossomed this season. Gadson is averaging 20.6 points a game and has scored at lead 20 points in seven of his last eight contests with a season-high 35 pints against J.Z. George on Dec. 4. He also has seven double doubles on the season and three triple doubles as he is averaging 10 rebounds a game and 6.4 assists a game. Senior T’Caivan Bolton is averaging 13.9 points a game for the Bulldogs as well.
For the Lady Bulldogs, who are 7-8 on the season, junior Jakyra Young is averaging 24.2 points a game and 9.5 rebounds a game. Junior Kiara Brown has also picked up her game in recent weeks as she is averaging 10 points and seven rebounds a game for the Lady Bulldogs.
