McAdams returns to the gridiron after a bye week with a home game against Simmons. Last week's scheduled game with West Tallahatchie was canceled because West Tally is among four Region 3-1A schools that are not participating in athletics this fall due to the pandemic.
The four 3-1A teams still playing are McAdams, Simmons, Ethel and Coffeeville. Only two region games have been played. Ethel defeated McAdams 23-20 and lost to Simmons 36-9.
McAdams hosts Simmons for Homecoming this week and Coffeeville next week. Ethel plays Coffeeville Friday. Simmons and Coffeeville are scheduled for November 6.
The 1A playoffs begin Nov. 13. With only four region teams playing football, all will make the playoffs with opening round games against teams from 4-1A in South Mississippi.
With a depleted roster due to injuries and players opting out, McAdams has only one victory, 14-13 over St. Joseph of Madison when the Bulldogs thwarted a two-point conversion attempt by the Bruins.
In the most recent game, McAdams, was defeated 27-6 by Raymond, a 4A school.
Coach Kenneth Nelson is pleased with the play of the defense and has been focusing on the offense in practice.
