McAdams, Ethel and French Camp Academy were all well-represented on the recently released Region 5-1A girls basketball team.
Akilah Erving of Ethel was named Region MVP, while Jakyra Young of McAdams was named Offensive Player of the year and teammate Cavian Bolton was chosen Defensive Player of the Year. McAdams' Michael Huffman was chosen Coach of he year.
Erving, a senior, average 24.9 points per game. Lady Tigers joining her on the team were DeJah Merritt and Chiquita Merritt.
Taking all-region honors from McAdams were Young, Bolton, Kiara Brown, Santisja Rockett and Robriana Clark.
Madison Klein and Jasmine Bonty of French Camp were also named to the team, while Jordan Carter claimed the Sportsmanship Award.
Klein, a senior, led the Lady Panthers in scoring with 21.7 points per game. Bonty, a freshman, averaged 13.7 points and 9.4 rebounds and Carter, a sophomore, 5.9 points and 5.0 rebounds.
Also making them was Jada Steen of Coffeeville.
