Kosciusko senior Micah Parker has been named first team Baseball Coaches All State for 4A schools. Teammate Chase Morgan will play for the North in the D.M. Howie High School All-Star Baseball game for 3A and 4A schools.
Parker was chosen all state as a utility player. He batted .425 with four doubles, three triples, two homers, drove home 19 runs, scored 24 and stole 14 bases. On the mound, he was 5-0 with a 2.75 ERA and 26 strikeouts in 28 innings.
Morgan, a senior, pitched and played shortstop for the Whippets. He batted .314 with five doubles, two triples, 22 RBIs, 17 runs scored and 15 stolen bases. As a pitcher, he was 2-1 with a 2.17 ERA and 27 strikeouts in 23.2 innings.
Kosciusko was 21-8-1 and reached the second round of the 4A playoffs.
The 3A/4A all star game is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, June 8 at William Carey University's Milton Wheeler Field in Hattiesburg. The 5A/6A game will be at 6 p.m. June 7 and the 1A/2A game at 10 a.m.. June 8.
