The Ethel boys and girls both swept Noxapater last week, while losing to French Camp in Region 4-1A play last week.
This week the Tigers (7-11, 6-2 Region 5-1A) and Lady Tigers (9-12, 5-3) will conclude their regular season as they travel to West Lowndes on Tuesday and will host county rival McAdams on Friday.
Going into this week’s play, Ethel and West Lowndes are tied at the top of the boys region standings with 7-1 records, while French Camp and McAdams are tied for third at 4-4, followed by 2-6 Nanih Waiya and 0-8 Noxapater.
West Lowndes leads the girls side of the region standings with an 8-0 mark, followed by McAdams (6-2), Ethel (5-3), French Camp (4-4), NW (1-7) and Noxapater (0-8).
The region tournament is set for McAdams next week, but as of this week’s press deadline the actual dates have not been said.
French Camp boys 53, Ethel 48
Izik Stewart would have a double-double, but it wasn't enough as the Panthers would come away with the win.
Stewart had 15 points and 17 rebounds to lead Ethel. Sacarrio Merritt added 12 points for the Tigers.
Ethel boys 49,
Noxapater 43
Sacarrio Merritt would score 25 points as Ethel would get past Noxapater in the all-Tiger matchup.
Izik Stewart added 13 points for Ethel.
French Camp 57 girls, Ethel 48
Zakiya Dotson would score 17 points, but the Lady Panthers got past the Lady Tigers.
Takia Miller added 10 points for Ethel.

Takia Miller would have a game-high seven points as Ethel ran past Noxapater in the all-Lady Tiger matchup. Jasmine Johnson added six points for Ethel.
