French Camp had a successful week with diamond victories over East Webster (6-4), Eupora (8-7), and Winona (10-5) to improve to 3-2.
“We're much improved from where we were at the beginning,” said FCA head coach Nathan Wright.
Holman Edwards allowed two runs on three hits in five innings, had two hits and scored twice against East Webster. Jarren Holmes, Zach Gilmer, Bradley Edwards and Phillip Lucas each had an RBIs.
The Panthers overcame a 7-1 deficit against Eupora with four tuns in the fifth and three in the sixth. Holmes had a two-run double in the fifth and Javen Anderson a two-run single in the sixth. Holmes, Seth Box and Holt Barlow did the pitching, allowing three earned runs, with nine strikeouts.
Timely hitting was the key against Winona. “We had some walks and that worked out when we got hits when we needed them,” Wright said.
After taking off for spring break, the Panthers return to the diamond for a game at Eupora Monday.
