The French Camp tennis team won its opening round MHSAA playoff tennis match for 1A and 2A schools Monday, defeating Baldwyn 7-0. The Panthers will play the winner between defending state champion Tupelo Christian and Pisgah next Monday.
French Camp only had to play four matches. Baldwyn forfeited boys singles and both boys doubles due to a lack of players. The Panthers won the other four matches in straight sets.
Grace Ann Wade won girls singles 6-4, 6-2. Hannah Mooneyhan and Grace Payton won No. 1 girls doubles 6-2, 6-1. At No. 2 girls doubles, Ruthie Storment and Rainey Peacock won 6-2, 6-3. And in mixed doubles Jason May and Rachel Gray were 6-0, 6-1 winners.
