Ethel hit the road to Ray Brooks Saturday and come up short 18-6 in a Region 3-1A matchup.
The game was played on Saturday due to weather concerns on Friday night.
The Tigers (0-8, 0-5 Region 3-1A) will host West Bolivar (6-2, 4-1) in a division matchup on Friday.
Cyrus Rone had 81 yards rushing on 13 carries and threw a 6-yard touchdown pass for the only Ethel touchdown. He also had an interception on defense.
Anton Clark added 74 yards rushing on 14 carries and Kyle Nabors had 56 yards on nine carries.
“We had 260 yards rushing and it was a good improvement. However, we fumbled the ball three times and that cost us,” said Ethel coach Dave McCrory. “Defensively we had a fumble recovery and played well enough to win. We just don’t have the dogs right now to take over the game because we are so young.
“West Bolivar is a good team that is multiple on offense and can score at any time,” McCrory said. “They have a rich tradition and are clicking on all cylinders right now. Hope people can and will support us.”
