Special teams were the difference as West Tallahatchie would come away with a 52-0 win over Ethel in a Region 3-1A matchup on Friday night.
The Choctaws would return the opening kickoff for a touchdown and also had two punt returns for touchdowns.
“We have to keep getting better as a team and keep working as hard as we possibly can,” said Ethel coach Dave McCrory. “Giving up three touchdowns on special teams hurt.”
Luther Clark had 13 carries for 68 yards to lead the Ethel offense. Kentrell Dotson added 23 yards on four carries, Mike Miller had 21 yards on five carries and Kyle Nabors had 17 yards on four carries.
The week the Tigers (0-5, 0-2 Region 3-1A) host 1A powerhouse Hollandale Simmons (3-2, 2-0).
“We’re exciting about hosting Simmons. They are a great program and can’t wait for the challenge they present,” McCrory said. “We are going to continue to get better running the offense that fits us as a team.”
