What could go wrong went wrong for Ethel on Friday night.
The Tigers were thumped by Attala County rival McAdams 34-7 in their Region 3-1A opener on Friday night.
Ethel (0-4, 0-1 Region 3-1A) only managed just 32 yards of total offense (17 rushing, 15 passing).
Luther Clark scored the lone touchdown from 2 yards out with five minutes left in the fourth quarter.
“Defense played 72 snaps on Friday and that’s too much,” said Ethel coach Dave McCrory. “We are adjusting what we do on offense. We’re going to be more north running the ball instead of trying to go lateral. Going to put in the inside veer and run a lot more play action passes instead of drop backs.”
The Tigers continue region this week as they host West Tallahatchie (2-2, 1-0).
“We are looking forward to the game this week,” McCrory said. “West Tally likes to throw the ball around when they are in shotgun, when they go under center they will run.”
