The Ethel Lady Tigers (2-1) played three times over the last week, winning twice. The Lady Tigers defeated East Webster 5-3 last Tuesday night and Winona 8-3 on Friday before falling 11-1 to Newton County on Saturday.
In last Tuesday’s contest against East Webster, Jessica Mitchell got the start and win, yielding three runs, one earned, in seven innings of work while walking three and striking out five. The offensive leaders for the Lady Tigers were Breanna Blaine with a single and one run scored; Shelby Schuster with one run scored; Emily Mitchell with a single and one run scored; Jessica Mitchell with two RBI; Sidney Rone with a single, double, one run scored and one RBI; Kambrie Hodges with an RBI; Haley Wiegel with an RBI and Madison Odom with two singles and one run scored.
In Friday night’s 8-3 win over Winona, Kambrie Hodges got the start and win, yielding three runs, one earned, while striking out 13 in seven innings. The offensive leaders for the Lady Tigers were Breanna Blaine with a single and two RBI; Emily Mitchell with a single and an RBI; Brooklyn Pitt with a double and an RBI and Wiegel with a single and an RBI.
In the Lady Tigers’ loss to Newton County, Emily Mitchell was the offensive leader with three singles and RBI while Aubrianna McBride had a single.
The Lady Tigers hosted Nanih Waiya on Tuesday and will host French Camp on Thursday at 5 p.m. Ethel will then host Independence on Friday at 5 p.m. before playing in the Kosciusko Tournament on Saturday.
