The Lady Tigers (3-4, 2-0 Region 5-1A) of Ethel High School were set to host French Camp in a Region 5-1A fast-pitch softball matchup on Monday and then travel to Tupelo on Tuesday for a doubleheader. Ethel is set to host Bogue Chitto on Friday and will play two games at Union on Saturday.
Last week Ethel earned a pair of shutout victories before falling to the top-ranked fast-pitch softball team in the country.
Ethel 10, Noxapater 0
Jessica Mitchell would go 3-for-3 with a double, a run scored and was the winning pitcher lasting six innings, scattered two hits and had nine strikeouts as Ethel got past Noxapater in a all-Lady Tiger matchup to open Region 5-1A play.
Sidney Rone had a double and home run for Ethel.
Ethel 12, Nanih Waiya 0
Rone would go 4-for-4 with a home run, triple and had 3 RBI's as the Lady Tigers raced past the Lady Warriors in a Region 5-1A contest.
Breanna Blaine had two hits for Ethel, while Jessica Mitchell got the win on the mound lasting five innings giving up three hits, two walks and struck out nine. Mitchell also had a triple and a RBI.
Neshoba Central 6, Ethel 1
The Lady Tigers would leave 10 runners on base and on two occasions had the bases loaded with no outs in the first and third innings, but couldn't manage to score. The only Ethel run came off an error, while Jessica Mitchell had four strikeouts in the circle, limiting the powerful Lady Rocket bats.
