Ethel sophomores Alex Schuster and Hayden Graves have been named first-team Baseball Coaches All-State for 1A schools. Schuster was named to the all-state team as an infielder and Graves as a catcher.
Schuster batted .548 with nine doubles, two triples, four homers, 27 BRIs and 39 runs scored. He was also 4-0 as a pitcher with a 1.05 ERA and 57 strikeouts in 40 innings, and was 30 for 30 on stolen base attempts.
Graves batted .444 with three doubles, one triple, two homers, 20 RBIs and 26 runs scored. He was perfect on 17 stolen base attempts.
Ethel finished 20-7 and reached the second round of the 1A playoffs.
The 1A Player of the Year is Jared Johnson of state champion Smithville.
