Ethel girls and boys would go 1-1 this past week with both winning over Noxapater and falling to West Lowndes in Region 5-1A play.
This week the Tigers (4-10, 3-1 Region 5-1A) and Lady Tigers (7-10, 3-1) will travel to county rival McAdams on Tuesday and travel to Nanih Waiya on Friday in region play.
Ethel Boys 65, Noxapater 47
Izik Stewart would have a double-double as Ethel ran past Noxapater in the all-Tiger divisional matchup.
Stewart had a game-high 21 points, 16 rebounds, five blocked shots and three steals to lead Ethel. Dominguez Clark added 15 points, while Sacarrio Merritt chipped in 13 points for Ethel.
West Lowndes Boys 74, Ethel 66
Sacarrio Merritt would have a game-high 27 points, but it wasn’t enough as the Panthers were able to come away with the division win.
Izik Stewart added a triple-double with 13 points, 11 rebounds and 13 blocked shots for Ethel. Shikell Lowrey chipped in 10 points for the Tigers.
Ethel Girls 49, Noxapater 24
Brooke Mitchell and Takia Miller would each score 11 points to lift Ethel over Noxapater in the all-Lady Tiger matchup.
Jasmine Johnson added seven points, while Zakiya Dotson had 10 steals for Ethel.
West Lowndes Girls 52, Ethel 41
Jasmine Johnson had eight points to lead Ethel, but the Lady Panthers remained unbeaten as they got past the Lady Tigers.
Brooke Mitchell added seven points for the Lady Tigers.
