It was a short week on the fast-pitch softball diamond for the Ethel Lady Tigers, and a roller-coaster one at that.
After a disappointing loss at Nanih Waiya on Monday night, the injury-riddled Lady Tigers rebounded to knock off previously-unbeaten Eupora on Tuesday night.
Ethel fell 5-4 at Nanih Waiya but won 9-4 at Eupora, improving to 9-6 on the season.
The Lady Tigers were scheduled to go to French Camp Academy on Tuesday this week before returning home to host Noxapater on Thursday.
Next week, Ethel is slated to visit Independence on Tuesday (April 10) before heading to Ray Brooks for a varsity doubleheader on Thursday (April 12).
Monday night at Nanih Waiya, the Lady Tigers fell when the host Lady Warriors scored three times in the bottom of the seventh inning to take the come-from-behind, division win.
Ethel had single runs in the first and third innings and two in the top of the fourth to go ahead 4-0 before Nanih Waiya rallied.
Emily Mitchell had a pair of singles, a run and an RBI and Jessica Mitchell singled, doubled and drove in a pair of runs to help lead the Lady Tigers.
Breanna Blaine and Hailey Wiegel both singled and scored; Kambrie Hodges and Melissa Jones each singled; Shelby Schuster scored and drove in one run.

Tuesday, Hodges got the pitching win and Ethel never trailed in handing Eupora its first loss of the season.
The Lady Tigers led 1-0 before scoring three times in the top of the fourth and three more times in the top of the fifth to take control.
Jessica Mitchell was 3-for-4 with a double, three runs and two RBIs and Sidney Rone tripled, singled, scored twice and drove in a run to lead the way.
