The Tigers and Lady Tigers of Ethel High School split their basketball games last week with Lake and Region 5-1A foe French Camp.
Ethel had one game this week, hosting East Webster on Tuesday.

D’Ayres Merritt would score a game-high 25 points and would also have five assists along with four steals to help the Tigers edge the Hornets on Tuesday night.
Sacarrio Merritt added 15 points, six rebounds and five steals for Ethel, while Daquannay Dotson chipped 11 points for the Tigers.
Izik Stewart would have eight points and eight rebounds and Akeem Erving had six points, seven rebounds and four assists for Ethel.
French Camp Boys 48,

D’Ayres Merritt would have 11 points along six rebounds and four assists but it was not enough as the Panthers edged the Tigers in their Region 5-1A opener.
Akeem Erving added 10 points and five rebounds for Ethel, while Daquannay Dotson had a team-high 12 points and five steals for the Tigers.
D’Vontrae Felton had six points and seven rebounds for Ethel (6-5, 0-1 Region 5-1A).
Lake Girls 47,

Akilah Erving would have a double-double, but it was not enough as the Lady Hornets beat the Lady Tigers last Tuesday night.
Erving would pour in a game-high 32 points, pulled down 12 rebounds and had seven steals to lead Ethel.
Chiquita Merritt added five points, seven rebounds and three steals for the Lady Tigers.

Akilah Erving would record her second straight double-double as the Lady Tigers bounced back and whipped the Lady Panthers in their Region 5-1A opener.
Erving had a game-high 44 points, 15 rebounds and six steals to lead Ethel.
Dejah Merritt added 14 points for the Lady Tigers, while Chiquita Merritt chipped in five points and seven rebounds for Ethel.
Takia Miller had four points for Ethel and Abbie Ellington had a good game defensively for the Lady Tigers (7-4, 1-0 Region 5-1A).
