The Winona Christian basketball teams split a pair of games last week as they beat Winston but lost to Central Holmes.
Central Holmes split a pair of games with Canton Academy as the Lady Trojans won 70-29 but the Trojans lost 51-38.
The District 2-3A Tournament was set to begin this week at Carroll Academy on Tuesday.
The Winona Lady Stars are the No. 5 seed and were scheduled to play Indianola on Tuesday at 5 p.m. If the Lady Stars beat Indianola, they would play No. 1 seed Central Holmes on Thursday at 4 p.m.
The Stars are the No. 3 seed and will play host Carroll on Thursday at 7:45 p.m. The Central Holmes boys are the No. 4 seed and will play No. 5 seed Indianola Academy on Tuesday at 6:15 p.m.
WCS girls 49, Winston 42
After a slow start, the Lady Stars got going in the second period to take a seven-point win over the Lady Patriots.
Winona led 6-5 at the end of the first and then outscored Winston 18-10 in the second to lead 24-15 at the half. After each team scored eight points in the third, Winton took the fourth period 19-17 in the fourth for the final margin.
Bella Roberts had a big night with 26 points while Audrey Eldridge had 10 points and Sara Burden White had eight points.
WCS boys 66, Winston 54
The Stars outscored the Patriots in the first three periods and took a 12-point win.
Winona dominated the first three periods as they led 14-8 in the first and outscored Winston 21-15 in the second to lead 35-23 at the half. Winona pulled away in the second as the Stars outscored the Patriots 22-13 to lead 57-36 going into the fourth.
Reed Roberts led Winona with 20 points while Choyce Diffey had 16 points. Latham Hill had 15 points while Jake Ware added six points.
Central Holmes girls 56, WCS 43
The Lady Trojans used strong starts to each half to take a 13-point win over the Lady Stars.
Central Holmes led 22-14 at the end of the first period before Winona outscored the Lady Trojans 9-2 in the second period to cut the lead to 24-23 at the half. But the Lady Trojans got going in the third period as they outscored the Lady Stars 20-5 to lead 44-28 going to the fourth. Winona took the fourth period 15-12 for the final margin.
Breann Bell led Central Holmes with 25 points. Audrey Eldridge led Winona Christian with 20 points while Bella Roberts had 10 points and Olivia Brooks added six points.
Central Holmes boys 55, Winona Christian 51
The Trojans tough back from a first-half deficit to take a four-point win over the Stars.
Winona led 14-11 at the end of the first and 29-23 at the half. But Central Holmes outscored the Stars 17-7 in the third to take a 40-36 lead not the fourth.
Latham Hill led Winona with 20 points while Choyce Diffey had 16 points and Reed Roberts added 10 points.
Jace Dean led Central Holmes with 18 points while C.J. Head had 15 points and Brad Robinson added 11 points.
Central Holmes girls 70, Canton 29
The Lady Trojans outscored the Lady Panthers in every period to take a 41-point win on Monday.
Central Holmes led 20-10 at the end of the first and outscored Canton 19-7 in the second to lead 39-17 at the half. Central Holmes continued to add to its lead in the second half, outscoring Canton 22-8 in the third and 9-4 in the fourth.
Makaylee Polk led Central Holmes with 25 points while Lindsey Tunrer had 17 points.

The Trojans dropped a 13-point decision to the Panthers on Monday in a non-district contest. No scoring information was provided for the contest.
